i think it depends on your goals. my goal is to make 5-10% a year on my shorts. i'll even accept breaking even. my goal is just to hedge my long positions and to cushion the blow during bear markets and corrections. this allows me to more comfortably use margin on my longs.

do you think this is a wise strategy or even possible?
