Betty,

We already have such a feature. It is called "next <click>". An "ignore" button (or "Message Filter") has been requested for a long time by the ostriches who want their collective heads in the sand so that they cannot read viewpoints that may be opposed to their own. Remember, lurkers do not have the option of ignoring posts. Lurkers read everything that is posted, good or bad, regardless of who the poster may be or any hidden agendas. So, the only effect that a message filter would have is to leave anyone using it in the dark about what is being posted on their threads. I think it's a bad idea whose time should never come.
