" Our preliminary findings with beta DirectX 6.0 code and beta graphics board drivers enabled for 3DNow! indicate that the K6-2 has caught up with the Pentium II (at the same clock speeds); far greater gains are possible, once every part of the puzzle is fully optimized. But AMD's K6-2, when used with software that does not make use of 3DNow! instructions, lags considerably behind the Pentium II. The Cyrix MII falls below even the Pentium MMX because of its relatively poor floating-point performance."
