more pain for TnT
computerheaven.net

Well, I guess nVidia has done it again, rage and hype that fizzled out once the product came to light. TNT in the shelves today is a far cry from the hype they shoveled for several months. Lets review...
nVidia promised a .25 micron chip. They delivered a much warmer .35 micron.
They raved a fast 125Mhz. They gave us 90 to 100Mhz.
They promised 250 million pixels per second fill rate. Now we are being fed 190 million.
...And all at a price of $200.00

Basically, what they gave us is about 25% less then what they promised. So, did they lie? Well, later in 99 they are promising a .25 micron version that should be able to reach the lofty goals they set. But again, I ask myself did they lie? What they have delivered is far cry from what they promised. The fact that the next chip will reach the performance levels reminds me of Clinton's hair splitting on technicalities.

Did nVidia lie? I believe it is clear that what they promised is not the product they delivered. They played marketing games hyping and presenting numbers they have been unable to match.

Again I ask myself, DID nVidia LIE?

STB claims their TNT has "Up to 250 million pixels/second peak fill rates" How can this be so when nVidia clearly states "...and delivers a mind-blowing 190 million pixels per second fill rate." Is this the same chip or has STB received magic chip from the future? Looking deeper into nVidia's specs I find the TNT listed with a 250 fill rate. They still are trying to hype with facts that do not match what they have delivered.

I think nVidia is forcing the public to bend over and take it up the proverbial #$%&*@

Again it is back to the question, did nVidia lie?
