I am calculating 25 X '99 earnings (.80) = 20. I think the Baby Bell snub for their proposed foray into the long-distance market is a blessing in disguise. Now they can start thinking of keeping their edge in the local access market and dueling it out with new comers like ATHM for home internet market. DSL deployment (to the point where consumers like you and I can order hookup) has only just started (yes, after all the hype has started to die down). CNCX is offering very competitive prices for 256K DSL in the SF Bay Area. I believe that in the short term PAIR will do well based on their own merit and since they have kept their portfolio narrow and clean, they are an attractive takeover candidate going forward.
