I know because these are the inevitable and programmed steps that are taken under these circumstances. Since the plaintiff is a corporation with sufficiently deep pockets, they will serve in any and all jurisdictions where any of the defendant reside.

Suits against John Does automatically are followed by discovery motions against any entity that is in a position to identify them. The company has the option of either hiring attorneys at each location or having its attorneys commence pre-trial depositions where the defendants reside - in which event the defendants would be dumber than dumb not to have an attorney of their own present.

If you think this suit is a bluff: think again! More of them should be pursued. I for one am happy to see that irresponsible individuals may be held accountable for their malicious and slanderous accusations, misstated as fact, in order to influence the price of a company's shares to the detriment of the company and its investors, on the internet. If you don't already know, the SEC has expressed its concerns about this and is conducting its own inquiries as to how such postings influence the market.
