If I understand your point, it is that you want to eliminate any potential costs associated with a middleman. Does the existence of such a middleman necessarily imply a higher cost to you or might they somehow benefit you? AHM, you still have not explained your thoughts, or what your point is regarding: "Show me any major firm - on-line or otherwise - that doesn't make markets in selected securities." I believe that I complied with your request, as the firms listed probably account for a very large percentage of the most active daytrading. However, even if you don't agree that the list is correct, What is your point?
