Good point -- Guess I'll get really worried when the market has some +20% days like Malaysia!

Said it before already -- either the market was irrationally oversold or this rise is. I don't think 8,000 will last the week.

Guess we are at least a day away from the 200 dma. <g>

<d then a last half hour mother
of all reversals occurred.

Saw something interesting on my newswire today about the 10 largest one day point gains and 10 largest percentage gains for the dow.

Curiously enough, there was about 3 or 4 10% one day gains , one in 29, 2 in 31, and 1 in 32. Something like that anyway. Well we all know what kind of a market that we were in then.

Paulo, re:Dow has just gone up 600 points in the last 8 hours of trading

Yes... but in the last 8hrs23min of trading, it's gone up <450pts. I feel comfortable that given the right interval, last Tues AM would offer a staggering downside figure exceeding 600pts. <g>

As a new poster here, I certainly don't want to wear out my welcome. (I do find it compelling to focus on whether technically or fundamentally things have changed. More importantly, how can we collectively benefit from something predictive?)

As Mr. Hopkins points out, he's made an astute call. As he also points out, it's the sell-side that counts. Knowing when to sell is the predictive part. I'd be most interested in Mr. Hopkins' next target. BTW, congrats to all who have profited from his earlier prediction!

Best Regards and good trading!
Alan
