Janet Reno was facing charges of "Contempt of Congress" if she didn't begin to find an independent counsel for the fundraising abuses. She could only stonewall for so long. The big question here is if Gore will go down for his hand in the money laundering operation at the Thai Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles. The next President of the United States could be some Democrat on the side lines just as Gerald Ford was when he replaced Vice President Spiro T. Agnew after his conviction for tax evasion.
