Jon, I agree that CUBE's new codec solves a serious compatibility problem in the digital video industry, and it opens a number of different markets to CUBE. There used to be at least two camps in digital video -- DV and MPEG-2. Now both are interoperable at real time rates (1.5X real time for the 50Mbits/sec stream).

Panasonic may have assisted CUBE with the DV. However, the CUBE engineers could easily have done the work themselves, as DV is less complex than MPEG-2.
