TO ALL: SOLID INFO NEEDED... I have recently begun researching Cisco and TLAB. I have a fairly good grasp on the former and have bought a few shares. I am intrigued by TLAB trading at a 52 week low. if you had some spare cash would you buy some now . What is your view of this stock? Why, apart from the CIena merger having to be recalculated, is the stock at the bottom. What are the strengths of this stock? What are its weaknesses? What do you forsee?
thanks,
jhg

Very interesting perspective. I was going to write that I did not blame ATT for making their decision based on the over heated power supply incident. I would have dropped Ciena in an instant under the circumstances. I hope we have a chance to learn more about what happened, sounds like the makings of a great thriller novel.

Here is something that doesn't add up: Birck knew about the alledged fire yet he said "after talking with Sprint and WorldCom, we're absolutely certain there is no quality problem with Ciena". ATT only has got hold of Ciena's 16 channel WDM according to Nettles, but 16 channel is supposed to be an extremely stable old generation box given that Ciena has shipped lots of 40 channel WDM already. So how can an old, stable generation product catch fire? Why it never catches fire at Sprint or WorldCom?
