DougHboy, Yes I agree thats what happened. I think these people here are all lawyers and they dont know how the average individual will interpret a request like this. I just assumed, when Kendall asked for it, that it was some sort of standard protocol. The Trent Lott response seemed like a hysteric. The problem is, its obvious these politicians dont care about the populus or what the people want anymore (we can see that from the polls) they are all on display in their own theatre for themselves alone.

I also thought it was a good move by Kendall. I just find it VERY ironic given the stonewalling, failure to timely turn over documents, etc. by the WH. No argument from me that it is good strategy. Just terribly hypocritical. JLA

Both you and Michelle have your heads deep in the sand. I agree with Senator Hatch, in that Starr doesn't owe Mr. Kendall much. The delays from Kendall and Clinton, the constant bashing of Starr, the lying, deceit....I wouldn't be surprised to see Kendall disbarred by the time all this is over...all because he wanted to outsmart Starr. I'd bet my money on Starr at this point...and I wouldn't give Kendall the time of day, if I could help it.

Lott shrugged off the request, suggesting it was just a new attempt to delay action on Clinton's behavior.

''I wouldn't be surprised if they go to court to try to block it,'' Lott said.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch agreed.

''If I were Judge Starr, I would comply with the statute,'' which requires only that the independent counsel give the report to the House, Hatch said.

''Frankly he doesn't owe Mr. Kendall much,'' Hatch added, referring to White House delays in handing over documents for various investigations ''over the past few years.''

Bush's affair is COMPLETE fabrication. Remember, there's lots of evidence against Clinton, NONE against Bush.

The TRUTH always wins out, as it has with Clinton and Bush.

Why don't you and your boys invent a slur against the Christian Coalition. Why don't you claim the Pope is having an affair with his secretary. After all, she travels with him.

>>I don't think Clinton's lawyers thought they had any hope in getting Starr to give them the impeachment report early. They were making the request to sway public opinion.

Well, it hasn't worked out that way. Just shows how weak Clinton's legal advisors have left him, stranded in his moral swamp while Starr occupies the high ground.

>>People will think that we owe it to the President to allow him to defend himself to the full extent of the law.

People will not think that way because Slick spent seven months lying to them. Besides, no one will listen to Clinton anyway, his credibility is totally shot.

>>Good move by Kendall.

Yeah, Kendall "good moved" him into a box. Or should I say a cell. Kendall should be disbarred along with Bill and Hillary when the time comes.
