I thought you might want to take a look at some '87 headlines and compare them to today. Exchange the 9/23/87 headline for today's record point hop. Then replace "interest rate fears" with "profit concerns and overseas implosion." What do you want to bet that the headlines after this crash won't say "doomsday" or "it is OVER." They'll say something like "If you hold for the L-T, you're OK" and ensure we get one of the worst bear markets of all time instead of the 6 month recovery we got '87.

Then again, maybe all of this is just a coincidence? :)
