Tim, the line last November was that "politically naive software engineer" Bill Gates would have a world class lobbying organization in place in 6 months. Still seems a little ham-handed to me, but you got to watch out for UCC article 2B, a nice piece of work. Personally, the statement about Microsoft and politics I find most frightening is from this article: gcn.com

"If it were up to me I probably would not have used Windows NT in this particular application. If we used Unix, we would have a system that has less of a tendency to go down."

Nothing like your warships going dead in the water because of the "blue screen of death". Let's all hope we don't get in a shooting war any time soon, less that old line gets a more literal interpretation.
