Chuzz & All - S&P Profit Leaders
just got my September S&P Investor's Monthly (courtesy of Fidelity).
Article titled "More Turbulence Likely as Investor Confidence is Put to the Test" p8...

anyway article talks of
-- stocks on a roller-coaster
-- depressed economies, tumbling currencies
-- weak technical market
-- real GDP OK
-- and it's unlikely that Starr will give up

But, on the plus side
-- the markets have been fueled by high liquidity, low inflation & low interest rates, stocks have settled into a powerful upward pattern that... will be difficult to break... and they we see choppy seas ahead.

So.....
--"Equities with strong earnings prospects should attract attention against the backdrop of slower corporate profit growth. A list of companies for which our analysts expect above-average earnings gain in 1999 appears on page 4."

DELL is listed with 5 star rank, and est'd gain for '99 of 38%

Since S&P has identified DELL as one of the better bets and possible safe havens, more $$ should be coming into DELL, I'd say. (JMO)
