Just another opinion from a person that doesn't address the charges.

This is one crazy world. There are over 100 charges. You'd think people writing articles would address at least one. Read the complaint.

usdoj.gov

Look, I can put an end to this nonsense. Right or wrong I don't see how Microsoft stock gets hurt in this case. Like I've said before ... what is the punishment even if Microsoft loses? Don't do that again?

Bill knows that the money is in banking, multimedia, the internet etc. With Microsoft's shotgun approach to business (no pun intended) they will find a way to make money.

The world is changing so fast that this case is going to be irrelevant. A 64 bit operating system will probably come along that no one has ever heard of that will blow the doors off of Windows. Probably something called Leanix. The desktop is becoming less and less relevant. We'll be surfing the web from our cellular phones.

Here's my proposal:

If Microsoft wins:

1. Bill gets to throw a pie in the face of everyone he wishes.

2. He can continue to bully, throw juvenile temper tantrums and produce mediocre products.

3. He can even continue to proclaim that his company produces "great software" to anyone that will listen.

If the DOJ wins:

1. A representative from Netscape and Sun each get 3 rounds in the ring with Bill Gates. Cage match. No rules.

2. Bill is then staked to a fire ant mound. Pay per view.

3. The resulting revenue is put in a trust to cure world hunger forever.

4. Almost forgot ... Rusty Johnson gets a 1% cut of the revenue.

If Microsoft soft makes such "great software" why don't they just put the Netscape icon on the desktop and let the consumer choose which @#% @#%& browser they want. What are they afraid of? Competition?

Just let the consumers choose Mr. Gates and avoid all of this hassle. This is one crazy world. The next thing you know Baptists will be boycotting Disney, a President (top secret clearance?) will be stupid enough to expose himself to blackmail for a hummer off of the Oval Office and someone will break Roger Maris' single season home run record.

Leanix ... does anybody really give a damn?

www.aynrand.org, now there's an "objective" source. Bill Gates is John Galt!

Cheers, Dan.

Ayn Rand is probably rolling over in her grave.

Something you missed - the date (pre-March appearance of Gates before the Senate) means this is somewhat dated. Although I have to admit I feel the source has to be questioned, I do agree that there may be a motive on the part of some of the persecutors [prosecutors] to take Bill and Co. down a notch or two since they have succeeded so blatantly.

As I have said before, the winners in cases such as this are the lawyers. I should add the paper suppliers, laserprinter and cartridge makers, FEDeX and the long-distance phone companies, hotels, restaurants and cab drivers.

What an industry!

Mr. K.
