Good morning Steve, Had a wonderful prayer time time morning. I expect great results. Now to your post: "Hebrews 8:8-12 from Jeremiah 31:31-34 undoubtledly talks about future promises to the historical House of Judah/Israel, whether it be a spiritual or physical reference to them in the future. See my previous post about this topic... I believe a simple meditation on Hebrews 8 and Jer. 31 will show you that the Lord is telling us in Hebrews that Jer.31:31-34 is fulfilled. This was the purpose of Hebrews, to show the Jews that Jesus was the indeed the Messiah who had fulfilled the Messianic prophecy in Jeremiah 31. Jesus's Crucifixion and Resurrection were amost 600 yrs. future to Jeremiah's prophecy and the fulfilled that prophecy. Tens and probably hundreds of thousands of Jews were saved in the first century. That was a might remanant, and that remnant fulfilled other prophecies by going out into the world and bringing the world to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Church--the Body of Christ--created in the blood of Jesus was God's intention the whole time. God used the holy nation of Israel bring forth the Church. The Church is a spiritual entity while its type in Israel was only a shadow. Approaching the Scsriptures with a preconceived idea that modern Judaism as a religious group must still have a place in end time propecy is dangerous. If I could find that in the Scriptures, I would have no problem with it, but it is simply not there. Scofield reference notes has poisoned the minds of millions in the Baptist and Charismatic denominations. I was raised in the Baptist and know this from a child. Look at your interpretation carefully. Modern Judaism has been leading the modern Jews against Jesus for the last two thousand years. Tens upon Tens of millions, all of the modern Jews who followed the teachings of modern talmudic Judaism, have been dying in their sins for two years. If the Scriptrues in Romans about "thus all Israel will be saved" really refered to what you'll are trying to make it refer to, then all these modern Jews should have been saved. Even if every single Jew were to get saved today, you still could not fulfill that word in Roamans that you'll hang this doctrine on. "Thus all Israel will be saved" simply refered to all those with the Faith of Abraham--the true children of Abraham--would be saved. When one reads all of Romans in context their is not doubt that this is the message that St. Paul was giving us. Finally, consider a further meaning and consequent of what you are saying. If modern Judaism, and not the Body of Christ, are the true choosen people of God today, then Jesus has become a curse for all the Apostolic Jews of the first century and all the consequent Jews who converted throughoust the last two thousand years. The Jewish Christians of the first century joined themselves to the Christian people and became part of the Christian people. The many Jewish converts throughout the centuries did the same. Your doctrine would cause these Jews to loose their choosen status because they accepted Jesus as the Messiah, but the memebers of antichrist Judaism continueed to enjoy their choosen status and would be rewarded at the end for their disbelief. This is an amazing doctrine, and I definitely think it is not of God. This is only a few of the really profound spiritual problems that this doctrine presents. The modern Jews like any other people can have full memebership in Christ and participate in eternal life. God has brought forth the holy Body of Jesus that he intended to bring forth from the beginning. The absolutely greatest horror that I see in this doctrine is the false hope that it puts in the hearts of the modern Jews. It gives them a sense that their rejection of Jesus is somehow ordained of God, and it also gives them the false hope in a salvation almost without God or in themselves. In the love of Christ Emile
