Lucretius is a derivative off
LUCRUM 1460 << profit>> or LUCRATIVUS 1278 << who produce earnings>>

RE: Meaning of "Lucretius"

The name "Lucretius" is derived from "lucrum"(:="gain") and is related to the English word "lucre" used derisively for gain. The closest English name is probably "Edwin" (:="winner of wealth"). The most famous bearer of the name was Titus Lucretius Caro (committed suicide allegedly as a result of madness caused by a love philtre administered by his wife about 54 BCE.) He was the poet of De Rerum Natura an Epicurean poem setting forth an early theory of atomism, among other things.

"Taurus", of course, is "bull". L.T. should be named Lucretius Ursus.
