Now that Canadian interest rates are higher than US interest rates the situation should stabilize and the C$ will probably recoup some of the loses.

As an aside, I had difficulty coming to grips with Canada having lower interest rates than the US. For most of my career Canadian interest rates had been higher. The theory was that the larger more liquid US market acted as a magnet for funds and Canadian rates needed to stay higher to provide an incentive to remain in the Great White North.
