Now we know how long this "rally" lasted - however, most agree that we will see a deep ground again before the market can rescue.

Wow. A long-term technology bear. It's not often that one of those is sighted. Do you also have long-term puts on MSFT, CSCO, AMAT, and the biotechnology index?

Seriously, though, I can't imagine any possible future in which those puts would be in-the-money in Jan 2000. I could see maybe buying puts when INTC hits the top of it's trading range (90), and riding it down to 70, (hoping that you don't get caught when INTC breaks above 90 on it's way to 200.) Jan 1999 puts would be adequate for that.

Are you expecting a depression in the U.S.? What company are you expecting to challenge INTC's ownership of the CPU space? Or does everyone already own all the computing power they'll need? War? Invasion by aliens? Clue me in.
