How in the world does the Republican (right-wing if you prefer) family values stance make it any more difficult for a single parent WOMAN to be a business success than it does for a single parent MAN? Don't they both have to juggle responsibilities to family and business?

Well thats a fine attitude but it just isnt a part of our culture today. For example, say if I was 26 and I was going to get married to some guy my same age, in todays world you just wouldnt have a case where the guy would say, well, Im going to support my wifes career and make a home, etc for us. Sure it would be nice if that were an option for both men and women but it is not. Society kind of frowns upon this, I think, and theres so few guys that would find this acceptable. Im talking about today. The common situation for successful women is that they stay single, thats the norm. Then some get married later and some dont. But I can assure you that if there was some societal edict or rule that said "no children without a husband, an one of you has to stay at home", well then putting everything on hold would not be an option and we'd more or less be back in the 50s where the whole game was latching on to a spouse as soon as possible in life.
