Erik:

Once they are put in the federal witness protection program, they are given a new identity. Prior to that and when they testify, there is no annanimity. You may recall, recently, the families of some of the victims of Sammy "the bull" Gravano went after the proceeds of a book that Mr. Gravano wrote. My guess is that it will be a long time if ever before they get their hands on his assets.
