PC, It didn't work positively when Nixon resigned and he was much more dangerous than Slick Willy.

The simple fact is, the economy has deteriorated since the decline of last year and stock prices are just as high as they were then. Earnings growth was negative this quarter, productivity doesn't exist, the trade deficit is humungous, and we have no savings rate. The banks are going under again soon, which will cut off the easy credit for stock buyback and option scams. Ditto for the brokerage firms making the flapdoodle deals that keep some stocks' heads above water.

So, my guess is that some large caps may recover, but it will be a much smaller list than in previous bounces. The average stock, even the average big cap stock, will join the little stocks in their bear market. If the Fed cuts rates, it will help the market frauds for a day or two, then we will go back to layoffs and fund redemptions.
