The whole v-chip mess is in serious trouble <vbg>. Manufacturers want to ship a chip that can prohibit access to **anything**, including news, sports, etc. Broadcasters are aghast, because they thought the chip would only be used to prohibit access to "questionable" shows (porn, violence, etc.) Broadcasters are threatening to refuse to add the required v-chip code to shows they don't believe should be controlled.

It's great to see the whole initiative get bogged down on the question of what is "questionable". Parents should control TV viewing the old fashioned way ... get involved in the kids' lives and exercise parental control!
