<<we expect the market to perform better in the next six months, with improved demand for low-cost and portable PCs," said Bruce Stephen, IDC group vice president of worldwide PC research. >>

This is were Apple should cash in.

I've never seen people turn away from PowerBooks. Overage of Performas were always the problem in the past. I don't ever recall an overage of PowerBooks.

Apple is poised to take over the Laptop market if they can get greater variety and flexibility along with cheaper prices.

A good sized laptop with a simple docking station would be a good solution. I never liked my Duo Dock. (I know I have the fix for the resistors that alleviates the unable to undock dilema). It was too electro-mechanical. When you're in a hurry, that delay in undocking could be agonizing.

Make it super-fast and bundle with Virtual PC.

a strong product lineup headed up by the hot-selling iMac.>>

Indeed, this quarter belongs to Apple.
