Steve, I think you misunderstand. I am not criticizing God, I am trying to explain why I do not believe the bible to be the unadulterated word of God. When I see people - and this book is the work of human hands - using God's name to justify unjustifiable and wholly ungodly behavior, I cannot help but reach the conclusion that human error has crept into the picture. You are more than welcome to your beliefs, and I can't tell you how pleased I am to discuss them with someone who can be civil about it, but I cannot read of these actions and believe that God had anything to do with them. I believe that any time any religion is used to justify violence and hate we inflict unlimited pain on the God that created us. Steve
