Am really surprised at lack of posts to this site after IBM announcement.

Question - It is my understanding that a flash memory card has to advantages over hard drives 1. impervious to climatic conditions - a person leaving a camera in car w/ extreme temperatures cud destroy a hard drive true? 2. transferability - camera to hand held computer- important?
