Could be. Typically, trading in a narrow range such as this builds pressure for a breakout in one direction or another. Last time, the break was to the downside and could have been safely predicted given the other technical factors pointing to a down move (the triple top, for example).

Unfortunately, I don't see such a clear secondary signal either way right now. AMZN is currently treading gingerly on its opening low. Breaking that (very) short-term support could be significant.
