now I find this information very INTERESTING....the one problem is that even for the homeowner....wouldn't the tank have to be excavated in order to "get" to it?....I've known of several people replacing their septic tanks but do not personally know of a home owner replacing their heating oil tank....and yes..they are scattered through out the Mid West, too....

When we were looking to buy a home in Kentucky....we refused to look at homes in neighborhoods that had underground tanks.. didn't want to take on the liability
