Maxwell, Re: AMD has gone a long way of having 0% customer base to 38% of the retail market in less than 1 year

That is very impressive. When is the first time AMD
entered x86 market ? May 97 ?

Maxwell,
RE:"#1) No tier 1 will adopt K6.
#2) AMD can't make notebook K6.
#3) AMD can't make 0.25um K6. K6-300 is a phantom chip.
#4) AMD can't make CPU that plays QuakeII like the PII.
#5) AMD can't reach 350MHz.
#6) AMD can't achieve volume on the 350MHz.
#7) AMD yield on the 0.25um process sucks.
#8) AMD will never reach the 400MHz and 450MHz.
#9) AMD will miss the Christmas season of the 400MHz.
#10)AMD K7 is vaporware.
#11)No software support for 3DNOW!
#12)No tier 1 will adopt K6-2
#13)CPQ will not adopt K6-2
#14)CeleronA will kill K6-2"

Nice summary of wishful thinking by the Intelabees! Yes they are nervous and have to bolster their egos by continually trashing this thread. Kind of sad really.
Around the first week of June this thread was dead, the major posters: Darbes, Robert, A-Barr, Fuchi, Drbes, Albert, Buckwheat, etc. had left due the constant harrassment of the Intel crowd not to mention AMDs drop in stock price and seemingly inabilility to get good yields or even .25u chips.
Then...information came through that AMD had greatly improved yields and had success with .25u. So I started to post. Some returned and started to post good ideas and information. You and Petz for example. Others joined in. The discussion became more objective.
Then, as in the past, here come the FUD. Paul, Elmer, Yousef and Stocky.
Paul E...constantly reminds everyone that AMD and Cyrix lost money. Duh, Paul...
Yousef... self proclaimed authority on process technology. Knows his stuff but has consistantly understimated AMDs ability to make faster speed chips at good yields over the last several months.
Elmer...disgruntled former AMD employee...I don't blame the guy. Probably a nice guy but was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Needs to let go of the hate.
Stockman...Insti-gator. Young, might even work for Intel.

With the talent these guys have it's a shame they aren't a little more constructive with it. The common thread? They hold Intel big time.
Main thing they are forgetting...Even if Intel "has" earnings, the market will trash the stock if they don't meet expectations.
No. one hope...AMD and NSM go out of business and Intel can raise prices and make obscene profits again...

Jim

Maxwell, you have quite a way of misrepresenting the facts. Each of these claims is taken out of context, but no matter, each of those claims was true at the time and the context in which it was made and many are still true today.
