Can anyone borrow me 1000 shares AMZN to short? 500 shares are ok too. I couldn't find any. :-)

Don't short- buy PUTS!

More leverage, and your losses are limited.. (Although regular shorting will "limit" your losses in the sense that eventually you'll get a margin call, and if you dont answer it they will liquidate enough of your position to cover) :)

I still don't know if Amazon is just tracking the market or all this bad news is finally starting to sink in. Lowered earnings, people on CNBC calling their accounting practices "fishy", stock-for-books and advertising expenses written off as "one time" events, etc..

I would HOPE that it is because of bad news, but the average investor in Amazon is utterly uninformed, and doesent even know what SEC stands for, much less what "creative accounting" means. So it appears AMZN may just be a high beta mirror of the overall market. :(
