Jim, everyone tends to accent their posts depending on their position. Actually when I'm in long I tend to accent positive things while when I'm out, as I happen to be as of yesterday, I tend to accent negative a bit. Just human behavior. Don't think it negates what he says if as Herb says inventory appears to be building. I'd be interested to hear from other folks if machines are appearing on shelves.

Jim as regards 400 Mhz MPU. Two comments. First, unlike you I don't believe Apple intends a server or workstation entry. SJ said 4 product categories with the desktop pro at the top and I believe he said what he means. If SJ leaves interim position later next year perhaps the new CEO will broaden the product line. Second, I don't believe either IBM or Intel will ever gain a significant advantage in microprocessors over the other. I believe it's a fairly "mature" industry where an advantage by one is offset by improvements in the other. I believe PPC and Intel systems are at rough parity other than in portables where Risc chips have an inherent advantage. That doesn't mean a company can't claim in marketing material an advantage and I encourage Apple to stress it to the max. Rich
