wallacestevens,

Thank you for the compliment!

The KJ version of the bible is a great, great text that stands as one of the great works ever written. But unfortunately there are minor problems with it.

First, it is written in a older brand of English that most have a problem understanding. It should not be read as a primary source of studying the bible, unless you are well educated in that brand of language. I suggest the NIV myself.

Secondly, whenever humans get their hands on something, they will make some type of mistakes. That are a few transcriptional and translational errors from the original manuscripts. But, and this is the BIG but everyone should pick up, as far as the salvation message is concerned, the KJ is consistent with the original manuscripts. The salvation message is not different. Its small, really non-important things that they screwed up on!

God Bless,
Steve

Care to share what some of those insights are, in your opinion?

I don't consider the KJ version a valid source document for the original scriptures.

I believe the bible was written over many years by many different people for many different reasons, including both sacred and profane ones.

Well stated and very true. Jeremiah 8:8
