Darrell,
The DVD equipped Thinkpad has a 14.1" screen and was the first large screen DVD laptop released quite a while ago. Don't you think 14.1" is 'large screen'???

IBM was alone for quite some time, then a bunch of the other majors jumped on the bandwagon, such as Toshiba with their Tecra 750 about 6-8 months ago. Gateway has been shipping DVD also. Pretty much everyone is now on the bandwagon, although if you plan on watching DVD movies, not too many releases yet, but this is definitely the way to go, I would not buy a new machine without one.
