Joe, I was only 6 when the '69 Cubs fell over dead in the final weeks fo the season, so it's only a story to me. In fact, it may only be a rumor.......Hehe

The Mets do have a tougher road, but I like their starting pitching better than the Cubs and think they do have a shot at it. I've seen too much Cubs baseball to think the playoffs are in the bag. The Cubs being swept by the surprisingly poor Cardinals looks to be a omen to me. Chicago has proven to be the only NL team that has not exploited the Cards horrible bullpen. It's scary to think of how bad the Cardinals would be if Mac wasn't playing wiffle ball with the opposing pitchers this year.
