I've noticed that just because someone is a techie does not necessarily make them an intelligent investor (even in tech stocks). The reverse might also be said for "the street." Just because the street (investors) appears to be telling TLAB to pull the plug, that does not necessarily mean it is an intelligent business decision for TLAB. I think this is a decision that management (for now) must make and "the street" should only be one (IMO small) factor.

Yes, but the street doesn't care about the long term viability of TLAB. That responsiblity falls solely on Michael Birck's shoulders. TLAB needs optical technology going forward. That's why this deal will happen.

Now, the price may yet again be changed. But the deal will happen, and CIEN will be sold above where they are now.

Also, I expect a joint statement after today's close. A buy at close today may yield a nice morning bump. Short term trade only.
