jmt, (OT)

I'd like to retract any statements I made about the $US getting weaker against the yen. Recent readings on the condition of Japanese banks and the Bank of Japan's announcement that they would be lowering rates will probably drive the yen to new lows. The situation there is getting steadily worse and I don't see any sign of improvement soon. Banks failures may get so bad that the Japanese government will have to take over the banks. It's unbelievable how poorly the Japanese government has handled the situation. Any leveraged company in SE Asia will be having problems because of the bank situation - bad loans and no cash to lend even to the solid companies.
