OTOT bp, NB sure has nerve imposing a retroactive $25 back end load on a bank account. Probably just a matter of time before its brokerage sub (Monty?) does the same with brokerage accounts. Hopefully you can pull out your money without technically closing the account. Incidentally, NB has many branches in nursing homes in FL to service the cash needs of the aged and infirm. These captive bank accounts pay no interest. I guess the friendly bank is simply providing a convenience for the customer. <G> Sam
