it now appears that TLAB is buying an in-house DWDM department rather than a company with great long term margins and market leadership... Charger, I don't know if TLAB ever had an illusions about this. There aren't many (any????) networking companies with great long term margins, except perhaps CSCO. But I do believe that CIEN is one of three or four market leaders in DWDM. No one dominates this market any longer, whereas, about 1 year ago CIEN did. But at that point the market was very immature so I'm not sure that is so significant. This deal will get re-priced, or scuttled completely. I think re-priced is more likely at this point, but we shall see. I bought CIEN at the close for a short-term trade. Hoping to sell into a morning bounce.
