Tim -

Any suggestions where I go for help?

If you've got problems with Linux (and I very seriously doubt you get a 'major system crash'), call Cygnus, or post to Usenet. It's a damn sight better than MSFT support, I assure you, witness the service awards that such support has been garnering.

Yes, of course I can point you at some help. You go to the volunteer specialists in the various public help fora. If you bought a commercial version there is additional help, including from the vendors you mentioned. But if you had had Linux running for long you would know that, since it is how everybody gets help.

I suggest first trying linux.org

Now if I only didn't have to pay for a 900 number call for the same kind of help, albeit less competent, with my NT and Win95 boxes...

Good luck with your new OS. In the end you will love it.

Cheers,
Chaz
