What is the intended use of your proposed machine? My home use is now dominated by the Internet. ISP connections are a primary bottleneck for speed on the Internet. For general Internet use the CPU will not make much difference. If you want to get into CPU intensive applications ( streaming data ? , graphics ) the CPU is more of a concern.
