I your pursuit of the (may I call it) the financial model holy grail...Did you consider overall short positions in the market? I've noticed in a rather unscientific manner that it seems that on individual stocks there is increased volatility when large short positions exists; there seems to be at the moment a lot of short positions across many equities; the market in general has been rather volatile over the last few months. Rhetorically...when the market recovers will it recover dramatically and rapidly in a style that we saw on Tuesday? Are overall short positions, as a percentage of the equities predictive of movements in the market or rates of change?
