James, very good question, and one that will certainly be asked at the sharholders meeting in November. But let me venture a guess. TLAB obviously views DWDM, and whatever other optical stuff CIEN might be working on, as STRATEGIC to their long term goals. This merger is not a TACTICAL one to fill a hole in the product line. TLAB wants to control their access to this technology so they really only have two options: 1) Develop in house. Its too late for this this. 2) Acquire.
