A trading and financial services company has filed suit against 100 users who posted messages on Yahoo! Finance, claiming the anonymous users made false statements designed to hurt the company's stock price.

Itex Corp. (Nasdaq:ITEX), a publicly-traded Portland, Ore. Company, named 100 "John Does" in its suit, filed this week in Multnomah County Circuit Court.

The case raises questions about how far users should be able to go in exercising one of the key features of the online world -- anonymous communication.
