Cannon, Hewlett-Packard (HWP), Hitachi and Minolta are evaluating the devices for integration into future mobile and hand-held devices. Shares of IBM fell 2 7/16 to 123 1/2.

The key words above that the drive is being evaluated indicates the drive has not been proven, I haven't seen all of the specifications, but it is my understanding that there are questions concerning reliability. I beleive the drive is intended for mostly portable devices, and that data was not released concerning power requirements and shock resistance.

Company press releases don't always provide all of the facts. IBM trended with market today with press release being viewed as insignificant.
