McMannis - Re: "Does Intel feel a little sqeemish in the margin everytime a Celeron A goes out the door though. "

When a Celeron A goes out the door, $149 or $199 comes IN THE DOOR.

That makes Intel executives feel just fine - since the costs are more than $100 below the selling price.

Jim,

Regarding Pentium II's you said,

<I doubt that any of those are in the demand like the Celeron-300A.>

And here we all are, arguing about how many K6 or Celeron's are flying off the shelves of Best Buy or Circuit City and forecasting the success/end of Intel.

Jim, exaggerate much?

Does Intel feel a little sqeemish in the margin everytime a Celeron A goes out the
door though. Best chip Intel has ever made. Like a Ferrari compared to the
Pentium II, the oldsmobile with a 455.

Tell that to the Pentium development team. Still, maybe celery has gone back into the refrigerator? (no more bad jokes about Celeron).
