Although I've heard Communicator is faster at some tasks than Navigator, I refused to use it due to the memory requirements and my lack of a need for email and newsgroup functionality in a web browser.

If I hear that Navigator/Communicator is faster than IE for retrieving cached pages, I'll be using it again pronto. Every web page I regularly use certainly works better with the Netscape twins, I just got tired of waiting for older versions (last I tried was 4.0.5) to serve up my pages. IE also has a better way of managing bookmarks than the Netscape products.

As for the Communicator problems with the animation icon, there has been some discussion about this over at MacFixIt, but with no resolution so far. It appears to be a cosmetic problem only.

Linda,

OT:
I paid for Quote.com for a wole month and a half before I cancelled. Are you getting the real time quotes?

Before I got the iMac, the Quote.com Java applet slowed down the browser so bad that it took me too long to switch to another window and do a trade. It was like swimming in molasses. (Not that I've ever done that) I emailed them about this and requested instructions for loading the password protected Java applet into Apple's Applet Runner. The delayed Applet worked fine there with no appreciable slow down. They never answered. A paying customer, and not even an answer. Three weeks later, EOM, I bailed.

With the iMac the speed was much improved, but I was already unhappy with their customer service.
