Marty,

I have only heard speculation without any grounding. There are quite a few rumors bouncing around out there. Many of them involve Samsung. I have also heard Samsung/APM, Samsung/StorMedia, Sony/Seagate, Japan?/Seagate, IBM/WDC, MaxMedia/StorMedia, Komag/HMTT, Seagate/Syquest, etc etc. These are times when rumors of this sort naturally proliferate. Is there any truth in any of them? Who knows. I guess accretive arguments could be mounted in any of these examples. There are some compelling economics that argue for consolidation, most of which could be summed up in "NO Margin". In any case, I have not been a "fly" in any boardrooms lately.<G>

Best,
Stitch
