No, I did not say that, but defending the President from impeachment for actions that took place while he was serving as President is undeniably a function of WH counsel. As for PJ, if the Court was going to allow PJ's lawyers to conduct wide-ranging discovery of the POTUS's actions then yes, I think it's perfectly right for WH counsel to represent the WH in that discovery.
