I will remember what you said here. Throughout 1999 Intel still uses the basic PII or PPro logic core. The only thing they will do is add in KNI and an integrated L2 cache. Intel will also raise the speed to 700MHz when they go to 0.18um. Thus benchmarking of this product can be easily extrapolated with current data. The K6-2 logic core already matches PII logic core. It trails PII in FPU but makes up for 3DNOW! The K7 on the other hand is a different beast. Unlike Intel (talking about Celeron and Pentium-Celeron trails Pentium), AMD will release the K7 which is superior to the K6-2. We will discuss this subject after AMD released info. at Microprocessor Forum.
